Barnum himself is inspired by his many travels across the United States and to exotic locales abroad. He photographs his travels extensively and uses these images, teeming with vibrant color and texture, to focus and expand his eye for design. Some of his inspirational photography is shared here. Michael Barnum is a genius! He transformed my home into a beautiful, comfortable, and highly functional space. It feels as if the functional square footage doubled. Michael has an impeccable design aesthetic, and is a true visionary. He keeps functionality and comfort foremost in all his considerations, and he is also cost-conscious. I couldn't be more happy with my home; I enjoy it ten times more. The level of service Michael provides is remarkable; no detail is too small. Michael also has identified consummate professionals to execute his vision, be they painters, contractors, carpet installers, etc. All wonderful people who hold Michael's high standard of perfection. In addition, Michael is a wonderful person, and great fun to be around. Overall rating: A+

Michael Barnum has tremendous experience and works well with all types of individuals projects and budgets. His high end work is breath taking and his rooms done with a budget are truly impressive. Michael has complete my city condo, helped with my house on the cape and done several rooms at my mother's new condo. Each project has a different budget and he can work with different styles to meet your needs. I also hired Michael to redo the main condo area for a 64 unit condo in the South End. He is the go to person. I can't say enough great things about Mr. Barnum.

I have worked with Michael Barnum Studio for about 8 years. I have since referred them to many friends and family. Michael Barnum has created many fabulous rooms in my home. His attention to detail and sense of color and design, along with his keen eye for using pieces you already own, are just a few of the things that set him apart from the rest. He creates a room that looks like it was done by a designer, but has your taste and feel. They work well with contractors and understand the business. This was a must for us.

It was very important to me to find the right designer when I renovated my home in Boston. I wanted a designer who would understand what was important to me and provide me with a beautiful new place to live. Michael Barnum Studio lived up to my expectation.....and then some. Michael Barnum, the designer, listened to what was important to me and took this to an amazing level of design. He created a beautiful metropolitan showplace with a homey feeling. His creativity included a shearling rug in tones of chocolate brown, a recycled cobalt blue glass lamp in an unusual "rock candy stick" design and a credenza with handcrafted artisan hardware. Michael Barnum Studio surpassed my expectations. Michael is approachable, knowledgable and friendly. I recommend Michael Barnum Studio without hesitation. What are you waiting for.......Call him.

Michael Barnum Studio worked with me when I purchased my condo in Boston's South End. His knowledge of interior design, attention to every detail and spot on choices of color have resulted in a truly wonderful space that I enjoy living in. All throughout the project we worked together very closely and he provided me with choices that have reflected my style while meeting my timelines and within the project budget. I cannot recommend him highly enough and in fact, have referred him to several friends and work colleagues.

Michael Barnum has worked with me to decorate 4 different properties, including my parents' condo. He initially impressed me (after interviewing 4 designers) because he clearly wanted to understand what I wanted to do and what MY vision was. In other words, he didn't just try to impose his vision on me. Each of my 3 houses had a different feel and I wanted to take a different approach, and he adapted quickly to my vision on each one. He is tasteful, extremely experienced, knowledgable, open minded, thoughtful and gracious. He knows absolutely everyone in the Boston Design Center and he is well respected there and throughout the Boston interior design community. He is honest and fair and an excellent communicator. I have referred him many times over the years to friends and I will continue to do so. He is a truly talented professional and has a sweeping portfolio of talented individuals in his network who are painters, wall paper professionals, architects, seamstresses, upholsterers, carpenters, etc. Perhaps most importantly, he is very respectful of my budgets! - CC
